Also known as Malus ‘Evereste’, Ornamental Crab Apple, or simply Crabapple Tree, this variety is a standout choice for year-round interest. The Flowering Crab Apple 'Evereste' is a compact ornamental tree that brings seasonal charm to gardens with its profuse spring blossoms, colourful autumn fruit, and tidy habit, perfect for smaller spaces and wildlife-friendly landscapes.
At Tree Heritage Nursery, we offer Malus Evereste Standard Trees in a selection of sizes: 10–12 cm, 14–16 cm, and 18–20 cm.
Growing Conditions
Evereste thrives in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soils, including clay, chalk, loam, and sandy types. It prefers a sunny or lightly shaded position, where it will flower most freely. Tolerant of urban pollution and resistant to many common apple diseases, it’s ideal for both country gardens and city plots.
Where to Position It
This tree is well-suited to small gardens, urban courtyards, wildlife gardens, or as a feature in lawns or borders. It also performs beautifully in avenue plantings or near pollinator-friendly beds, thanks to its blossom-rich canopy and compact, upright form.
Flowers, Fruit & Foliage
In spring, Evereste produces masses of fragrant white blossoms, often flushed with pink, which are a magnet for bees and other pollinators. These are followed by small edible orange-yellow fruits that persist into winter, providing decorative interest and a valuable food source for birds. Its green leaves turn golden and coppery in autumn, extending its seasonal appeal.
