Also known as the White-Barked Birch, Jacquemontii Birch, or simply Betula utilis, this stunning multi-stem form of the Himalayan Birch delivers striking beauty and architectural presence. Its brilliant white bark, light canopy, and elegant branching structure make it a go-to choice for designers and garden enthusiasts looking to create instant visual impact.
At Tree Heritage Nursery, our Himalayan Birch Multi-Stem Trees are cultivated for strong form and even branching, ideal for feature planting in both traditional and modern landscapes.
Growing Conditions
Himalayan Birch thrives in moist, well-drained soils, particularly loamy or sandy types, and prefers a sunny or lightly shaded position. It performs well in a variety of garden settings and is hardy, wind-tolerant, and relatively low maintenance once established.
Where to Position It
The multi-stem Himalayan Birch is perfect as a focal point in open lawns, gravel gardens, woodland edges, or contemporary courtyards. It works beautifully in groups for visual rhythm, or as a standalone specimen where its sculptural form and luminous bark can take centre stage, especially in winter when the bark truly shines.
Bark, Foliage & Flowers
This variety is known for its striking white bark, which peels naturally to reveal fresh layers beneath, adding winter interest and texture. The tree’s light green, oval-shaped leaves turn a warm golden yellow in autumn, extending its seasonal appeal. In spring, it produces yellow-brown catkins, followed by small, unobtrusive fruits. The canopy remains light and airy, making it a great companion to underplanting or layered designs.

Planting & Aftercare
Every order includes our planting and establishment notes. The single biggest factor in success is water: new plants need generous, regular watering through their first two growing seasons. Follow the guide and your plants will establish strongly — and we’re on the end of the phone if you need us.
Why Tree Heritage
We’re a working nursery in Hertfordshire, not a reseller. Every plant is selected, grown on and quality-checked by our own team before it leaves the nursery.
